Somehow, life seems to have "speeded up" or something like that. Is it something changing in the universe? The galaxy? Or is it just a change in my own perceptions? Getting older truly does suck for most people. I think I am in that camp. So many more physical ailments and complaints. Injury is easier and faster too these days, but it takes longer to get there, including up or down the stairs.
There doesn't seem much time for reflection, or else I am just not taking the time.
Thoughts of mortality inevitably creep in. Friends, family, some younger than I am, are passing away at an accelerated pace. Covid seems to be culling the herd. Sure, in its early days, it took some wonderful people, but predominantly now it is taking the rather ignorant and obstinate, the anti-vaxxers and conspiracy nuts, the Trumpers and QAnoners. Thinning this gene pool is likely a good thing, but as one wise philosopher, or drunk, once put it, there will never be a shortage of ignorant people.
