It's a cult alright. I saw one female cult member being interviewed recently and she claimed that Trump made good on every promise he made. She claimed he did everything he said he would do. Then, the interviewer asks, well, what about the Ukraine/Russia war? Trump said he would end that on Day One of his presidency. First, the Trumper claims that she never heard Trump say that, so she thinks that gives him an out. But then, even stranger, she said she doesn't believe there IS a war between Russia and Ukraine. "But what about all the video we see, and all the lives lost?" to which she simply replied "Fake news." She doesn't believe there is a war going on. This is how deeply lost the cult is. If they are confronted with a fact, they claim they never heard that. As a last resort, the answer to just about everything else is "fake news."
I had no idea there were so many people that are so stupid in America. All the resources at your fingertips, and you get "Fake news." I wonder where she heard that phrase? Case closed.
When I see the happiness and excitement on the faces of a crowd in this Guardian photo taken at a campaign rally in Lubbock, Texas yesterday, I can only wonder if we have lost our minds as a nation and our sense of decency as human beings. Do these folks not know of the profound dishonesty and corruption engaged in by this disreputable slob standing in front of them as he spews the same old incoherence, filth and lies about his broken promises and his disgusting behavior as their President? Or are they so dumb and foolish they will cheer for and believe even the most bald-faced foulness and nonsense that pour out of his lying mouth?
If that is what the people of America have become by this my 75th year, I no longer want them near me, my kids, grandkids or friends as neighbors or in any other capacity. The stink and lies that Trump exude have transformed these otherwise surely fine folks into the equivalent of walking dead, unthinking cultists in the sickest, most depraved cult called MAGA. They have no real love or appreciation for America and what our nation once upon a time stood for in this world: honesty, honor, decency, courage, compassion and respected leadership. Trump and MAGA have turned our nation into a hideous joke. These MAGA yahoos laugh like demented fools even when Trump acts like he's attracted to a man's firm ass. Or MAGA folks sit in abject, mindless silence when he says we should force Canadians to become Americans, when he knows damn well Canadians want no part of our idiocies, bullying, lies, and the rest of his grotesquely failed leadership, or that of cowardly Republican sycophants and toxic toadies like Vance.
When one gazes at the faces of these Trump supporters, it is clear they are not serious people who are aware of the rot Trump and Republicans have infected our nation with or the damage he and they have done to out standing in the world after his failed war in Iran and his betrayal of the Ukrainian people at the behest of his little creepy sicko friend and fellow autocrat Putin. These smiling and laughing fools depicted in this photo appear to be willing to continue their idiotic support of the most corrupt, dishonest and incompetent president and government in US History because they either don't care about the welfare and future of America and are happy to continue enriching the corrupt Trump, his family and oligarchic friends like the slime ball Musk. Or they are unable to comprehend the magnitude of Trump's corruption and his incompetence in starting wars and mismanaging a large economy (like the casinos and other businesses he bankrupted). Nor do they care Trump is also now bankrupting America with his outrageous war and defense spending!
I apologize for rambling on so long, but I am so damn disappointed by and angry at people like those laughing fools in Lubbock who seem to find the shitshow Trump has inflicted on my family and friends and the rest of America to be anything but horrific. The uncaring, selfish and frankly stupidity of those who continue to worship Trump instead of treating him as a malignant cancer on the body politic and governance of our country have brought me to this angry and forlorn state of protest.
