life is a donut

There are so many awesome things on the internet, it's impossible to get to them all. There is also a whole lot of crap out there too. You have to sharpen your powers of discernment to separate the wheat from the chaff, and it's not always easy.

I recently saw something on the net to suggest that the idea of religion is slowly dying, thanks to the internet. Why? Because a wealth of information is out there for people to find and read. Knowledge and learning is the key to growth.  Why do you think it was forbidden to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge? Because religion works best when people are "in the dark," ignorant, and obediant.

In that vein, I found two very awesome toons recently.

One, found on "The Oatmeal" site, is called "How to Suck at Your Religion." I could spend all day, all week, all month, on that site. Read this one here.

The other is called "Stanley Colors" (Comics and Stuff from Pablo Stanley). This one in particular he calls "Life and Donuts" is really good. If you click on this condensed image, you may be able to read the comic. If not, click here.

Yes, they both knock religion. It's easy to knock religion. As John Cleese says in his recent memoir "So, Anyway" which I am currently reading, "...has it occurred to anyone to wonder why it's so easy?" (psst! 'cause it's bullshit!)
