First off, I found this one online posted by a relative of mine living in South Carolina. He is a former teacher and now calls himself a "digital creator" in the cause of social justice. Tall order, especially in South Carolina, but we all have to be somewhere.
Being white (and male), I have felt my white privilege many times over the years. I have not chosen to stay out of politics or social justice issues, but I know that I have not done all that much to advance the cause of social justice. It is sometimes hard to know what to do about the issues. Giving money is good but only goes so far.
On to Elon Musk, the archvillian of South Texas. This guy is ripping this shit out of South Texas, polluting its pristine waters, destroying rare animals habitat, shaking our houses on South Padre Island because he is TOO CLOSE to this city, and he doesn't give a fuck. And now the guy is openly supporting Donald Trump. Why? Apparently because Trump is promising big tax cuts to the wealthy. So, simply put, Musk is willing to destroy our democracy to make an extra few bucks. How short-sighted can you get, Space Nazi?
Musk had a "conversation" on X recently and let Trump ramble and vent about Trump's usual grievances. Some conversation. Recently, Trump said that yes, he used to be opposed to electric vehicles. (Trump lies repeatedly that the Biden admin is going to FORCE everyone to buy an electric vehicle. They won't, but the truth has never stopped Trump before.)
So Trump says that, now that Musk is supporting him, Trump HAS to support electric vehicles. "I had no choice," Trump said, confirming what everyone knows: Trump is all transactional. Whoever gives him a lot of money can get what they want. His administration is totally for sale. Trump had "no choice" but to support electric vehicles after the Space Nazi gave him a lot of money. What a model character.
Oh yeah, Trump and Vance held a rally today in Ashville, NC. It was reported that Asheville made Trump pay $87,000 in ADVANCE to rent an arena for his rally. Finally, cities are wising up that Trump will rent a venue, hold a rally, and then stiff you and not pay his bill. It is estimated that the Trump org owes almost a million bucks to various municipalities that have been ripped off by Trump. The guy is a no-good conman grifter who hasn't told the truth about anything in several years now.
I can understand how the thoroughly corrupted Republican Party supports him. After all, they have no backbone and are comprised of the worst of humanity.
But anyone who considers themselves a Christian and still supports this lying scammer? WTF is wrong with you? Have you even READ your Bible? Geez, I'm an atheist and I can easily see how you are not following the teachings of your Christ at ALL.
But on the upside, there are some new groups that are supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. It's the "Evangelicals for Harris" and "Republicans for Harris!" Maybe there is still some hope for Republicans.
