Empty Bowls

My wife has recently been making pottery at the Foelber Pottery Gallery & Studio here in the Montrose in Houston.  She's made some really nice beautiful things.  You have to admit there is an extra level of satisfaction when you make things yourself (and they work!).   She will be donating a work or two of hers for the 8th Annual Empty Bowls event which benefits the Houston Food Bank.  If you're in Houston and have the opportunity, please come by.

Whole Foods Market presents eighth annual Empty Bowls Houston

Whole Foods Market will hold the eighth annual Empty Bowls Houston from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, 4848 Main Street, Houston.

Soup will be served from 11 a.m. until it runs out.

Empty Bowls is an international effort to fight hunger and benefits the Houston Food Bank. Houston area ceramists, wood turners and artists working in all media are working together to organize and hold the event.

Attendees donate $25 and receive a soup and bread lunch provided by Whole Foods Market, as well as a bowl from more than 1,000 one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowls donated by Houston area ceramists and craft artists.

There will be live music and artist demonstrations throughout the day.
