Really? BULLSHIT! A LOT of people blame Bush, and rightly so, for what happened on 9/11.
Bush's team laughed off Al Gore and his serious and detailed warnings about terrorism. Bush's team ignored Richard Clarke's (the chief counter-terrorism advisor to the NSA) "hair on fire" warnings about terrorism. Bush got the Aug 6, 2001 memo, "Bin Laden determined to strike inside U.S." and he went and stayed on vacation for weeks after.
And Jeb comes back with, "what's important is what you do AFTER a bad situation, and my brother kept us safe." What a dishonest political hack. Ever heard of the invasion of Iraq that destabilized the entire region? We're still paying the price. Not to mention the Bush huge tax cuts that eliminated the surplus and plunged us back into deficit, and the curtailment of civil liberties in the wake of 9/11.
Fuck yes we blame George W. Bush for 9/11, for not doing nearly enough before the attack happened, for sitting in that Florida classroom for 20+ minutes after the first plane hit the World Trade Center looking like a dunce. And we are STILL paying for trusting that pathetic son of a bitch.
What am I saying? We didn't trust Bush. The Supreme Court gave the office to Bush. It was a fucking coup.
Anyway, Mike Malloy is just as incredulous as I am.
