The 1st Annual South Padre Island Open Water Festival premieres November 5-6, 2016. Sounds like the Laguna Madre water might be a little chilly around then.
Open Water Planet takes over South Padre Island, the Sandcastle Capital of the World, the first weekend in November this fall. A weekend full of activities include a kids 500 yard sprint, a one-mile open water bay swim, a 5-kilometer open water bay swim, a special screening of the Olympic movie "The Last Gold", OWP Vendor Village and much much more.
All in a festival style atmosphere that offers the opportunity to compete in some of the cleanest water in the country ** and enjoy all of the amazing activities that South Padre Island has to offer.
