Bush said he found the penalty excessive. But apparently the penalty was within sentencing guidelines.
What Bush really found excessive were the actual CHARGES against Libby. The fact that Libby was charged at all is what Bush finds excessive. He thinks that anything that anyone does for him should be exempt from the law.
Bush can't very well say that he thinks that lying to authorities or perjury itself is "excessive," because he lies, congenitally. So he lies about the case. It's the PENALTY that was excessive. Yeah, right.
I hope America survives this prick with at least a couple of bucks left.
