Discover the rich history and culture of Ethiopia, the cradle of mankind. From the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela and the massive, ancient obelisks at Axum to the beautiful highlands of Gondar and the arid desert in which the famous fossil Lucy was discovered, Lucy’s Legacy tells the amazing story of Ethiopia over the past 5 million years.
In addition to the fossil of Lucy (estimated at 3.2 million years old), over 100 artifacts such as ancient manuscripts and royal artifacts from a dynasty Ethiopians believe stretches back to the son of the biblical King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba will be on display.
Lucy’s Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia is an international exhibition organized by The Houston Museum of Natural Science in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Exhibition Coordinating Committee. National funding for Lucy’s Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia is provided by The Smith Foundation and Ethiopian Airlines. Local funding is provided by METRO, BP and The Hamill Foundation.
Looks like Houston is the first stop for this exhibition. But if the world is only 6,000 years old as the religious kooks say....I wonder if they'll picket??
