How much power does your TV use?

A typical home might have one each of the items in the chart. I, in fact, have at least one of each item, and a few of some of them. At one each, combined, all these devices use an average of 1200 kWh (kilowatt hours) per year. The general estimate is that 90% of power is consumed in the "on" mode. 10% of the total is consumed when your TV or other device is in "standby" mode. So....you could save 10% of the energy you use by unplugging your TV's and other devices when they are not in use. More information is available at http://www.efficientproducts.org/tvs/
