New phones

Further we go into the technology revolution!

Yesterday we received our new phones (NEW TOYS!!), stepping up to 4G from 3G. We're going back to CREDO, a great group of people that actually CARE about shit, and don't give money to Republicans. That's different.

We're dropping Verizon, and CREDO gave us a $750 termination fee credit, which easily covers Verizon's charges for early termination. We're also getting 25% off for the first year of the 2-year contract. Not a bad deal to lure us back into the fold.

The ONLY drawback is that CREDO piggybacks on Sprint's network, and Sprint does not have the best reception in Houston. Or should I say, didn't. That perception is based on our experience from a couple of years ago, so surely they've beefed up their system since then, right? I doubt if they quit building towers and improving their signals.

We're still using Android phones, so the change from a Motorola phone, using the 2.2 Android OS, to a Samsung Conquer 4G, using the 2.3 Android OS, is negligible. Everything works and looks the same, only the internet using 4G is SUPER FAST. In some cases, it's faster than my iMac desktop!

This new Samsung Conquer has two cameras: one back-facing for taking pictures and one front-facing for video chats. Fortunately, CREDO is passing along Sprint's plan for unlimited data. Sprint is the only company still allowing unlimited data (internet) on new contracts. Now, let's see how many calls get dropped. Turns out I use the internet on the phone more than the actual phone itself.

From CREDO:

Here are just a few of the social-change groups we've funded over the years.

Can your wireless provider say that?
