BBC Harvest

The BBC (British Broadcasting Company) Two produced a three-part series called "Harvest."  We were able to catch the second and third program while on holiday here in London.  It's quite an excellent series, looking in detail at the 2013 harvest in the British Isles of vegetables, cereals, and fruits.

Hosts Gregg Wallace and Philippa Forrester

I understand that programs like this are rather commonplace on the BBC.

And then I think of American television.  What a horrid fucking wasteland most of it is.  American Idol, America's Got Talent, The Real Housewives of ..., Dancing with the Stars...  Ugh, the crap goes on and on.

If you are interested in how your food is grown, harvested, and processed, watch this series.  They are using some space-age techniques here in the old country.

According to the BBC website, you have 7 more days in which to view these three programs for free on their website.  We will be catching the first program that way.

BBC Two:  Harvest.  (Now THIS is good TV)
