San Roman Wind Farm

On the Texas mainland, on the way to the upper Rio Grande Valley from the island, you see quite a few of those huge windmills used to harness the power of the wind. They are run by Acciona, a Spanish conglomerate. One thing we have in abundance down here is WIND.

Renewable energy for more than 30,000 homes in Texas

ACCIONA has grid-connected the San Roman Wind Farm, a 93-MW project located in Cameron County, Texas. The wind farm will supply enough renewable energy to power over 30,000 homes. It features thirty-one 3MW wind turbines by Nordex-ACCIONA Windpower technology. The project represents the renewal of ACCIONA Energy’s investment activity in the United States and raises the company’s wind energy capacity in the US to 721MW, with eight wind farms in six different states.
