snipers!

Another new voice online: Michael Kempster. It doesn't take a whole lot of words to get a point across.

Forgive my profanity and lack of elegance here:

Just who the fuck thinks a 'triumphal' arch centrally and prominently located in a national capital should have a platform for snipers, armed drones and ammunition? Just what the fuck does even the notion say about us? Who the fuck could possibly think this is who we are, who we should be? That this is the necessary and best solution to a security problem even if one exists? That visitors to the Lincoln memorial and the Arlington National Cemetery will feel safer, consider it appropriate? Just who the fuck would do any of that? Even before considering the reality, rather than dumb-ass high-testosterone low-IQ movie/TV fantasy, of, y'know, actual snipers overlooking milling crowds?

Just how is this visioned atrocity consistent with any decent thing this country has ever stood for, ever?

And just who the fuck thinks a ballroom bigger than the White House would be a great place for more snipers and drones?

How can a single one of my fellow citizens countenance even the contemplation of such things without howls of outrage? How?
