OpenlySecular.org

This Thursday, April 23, is "Openly Secular Day" when all atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, etc, are asked to tell at least one person about their secularism. Check out the website here

I think this is about the only way freethinkers are going to "break out" in this culture, by everyone else realizing that they too know an atheist or agnostic, and they then realize that these people are not evildoers, to quote a former idiotic President, but regular people like everyone else, except they just don't believe all the supernatural bullshit.

If you still think atheists are evil, go here and watch a few videos.  It won't take long.

In a simiar vein, it's astonishing to see how fast gay marriage is being accepted in this country. 10 years ago it was barely a blip on the radar screen; now, this summer the Supreme Court of the United States is likely to rule on marriage equality in the affirmative.  There will be celebrations and wakes all across the country. The SCOTUS will announce their decision on this case towards the end of June.

The court said it would specifically address two questions: Does the 14th Amendment require a state to license a marriage between two people of the same sex? And does the 14th Amendment require a state to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out-of-state?

Like clockwork, moronic Iowa Rep Steve King wants to pass a law that would prohibit the SCOTUS from ruling on this case.

One of the next steps atheists need to take is to challenge all the states (7 of them) that currently prohibit godless people from holding public office.  Texas is one of them.
